Both my children were challenged appropriately in Floral Park Memorial. They are now in great colleges, successful and happy and can each graduate a year early thanks to the college level and ap courses they were put into. I didn't know anything about APs before my oldest went into FPM and I wasn't even sure he was ready for them. I was assured he could do it so I trusted the school. They were right and I am thankful I trusted the school to know where to place my children. The university price went down by 25 percent which was a wonderful perk for me. The atmosphere is good, the kids are spirited and high achieving and the staff is extremely dedicated. Of course, we came across a teacher or two that my children had challenges with. But isn't that in every school?

This school is absolutely the best school in the district by far, hosting the advanced Instrumentation and Automation (Pre-Engineering class) and providing rare courses such as Physics C, and other great programs with over 62+ Varsity sports, this is the best school. I've been here since 7th grade. And i can honestly tell you that I've had no problems with no bullies or teachers. Do your work and have fun. It has alot of fun activities such as school talent show Follies, and other great activities for each kind of person.

OLV is a small school with a big agenda. They offer everything that a public school offers, but have a smaller student population that makes it feel like a family. My daughter has benefitted greatly from the Christian care offered by the faculty and staff and is constantly being challenged and inspired by the academics. OLV has the unique distinction of being able to offer its students most of the services of the public school, with a whole lot more. I can't imagine a more nurturing place for my child.

PS191Q has a strong PTA and helps fund several additional activities for the students from in-house after school activities to field trips. The proactive administrative staff, including the Principal and the Parent Coordinator, are very helpful, highly visible, and responsive to parents and students and seem to know most of them by name. The teaching staff are capable and friendly and the school has a warm atmosphere about it. It is decorated with the children's art work and is very clean and well organized. Academically, the children are challenged and seem to be doing very well. There is music and art, computer lab, and the kids still get their recreation time which is vital. Another big plus is that they have not installed snack/soda vending machines. I am very pleased with PS191Q and recommend it. I feel my daughter is safe there, welcomed, and following a good curriculum.

My son is in 5th grade and my daughter is in 2nd. I think it is wonderful. The kids are learning alot. The more advance students have the ability to goto special classes (PROBE). The teachers and administration listen and my kids haven't had a bad teacher yet! They have afterschool for parents who work. The only thing is they still don't have full day Kindergarden. Which is a problem. I'm paying for full day Kindergarden. I think it will be mandatory in NYS by 2010-11.
