I have three children at WDS. They all have very different personalities and needs, but all of them love going to school everyday. The school community is nurturing and encouraging. The teachers are great. They make learning fun and interesting. Consequently, my kids are thriving socially and academically. The school also has a very generous financial aid program so that it is accessible to a diverse community.

I'm overly disappointed by this schools lack of motivating teachers and student body. There is no motivation from the teachers what so ever to even act as if they want to teach the students. There is violence and fighting that go on in the halls of SHS, and I am furious with the way the school handles everything. I give it a 2 out of 10, on a good day. |

Cahill schools are wonderful. The principal is involved in many after school programs with the children. She is firm but more than fair. She is exactly what children need to learn life lessons. The school is so great that the teachers send their own children there which says a lot to me. many of the teachers grew up in the saugerties community. this isn't just a school but it is a family. They treat your child as they treat their own. I have though of moving because of high village taxes but have chosen not to so that my children can grow up going to a school that provides them with a sense of community. This school gives them a great education and teaches them about being a productive member of society and about caring for your planet. Their PTA is currently raising money for a playground. The PTA is welcoming of newcomers and always need extra help as they do so much for the community as well as the school. This school is the hometown local school you dream about for your children.
