I went to an open house for St.Nicholas. I have to say I was very impressed with the school. I like how safe the school is. Someone must answer the door at all times. The principal is strict which is fantastic. Parents are required to volunteer each month. The small classes are also a plus. I hope that my child gets accepted in the school. It would be a positive experience for him. Especially coming from a terrible school Sts. Joseph & Dominic Academy.

I attend P.S 19 as a child and i had transfer to a catholic school but had return back because the catholic school didn't challenge me academically. The teachers that where there was i was going left a profound impression on my life. So i can image if the education was great then it's probably beter now.

I LOVE THIS SCHOOL IT'S BY ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCHOOL MY DAUGHTER STARTED IN KINDERGARTEN AND HAS THE BEST TEACHER MRS. MARTINEZ SHE IS VERY DEVOTED TO THE CHILDREN THE SCHOOL IS FAMILY ORIENTATED THE STAFF ARE VERY WELL EDUCATED NICE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE I LOVE THIS SCHOOL IT'S THE BEST:)

I wish organizations like "greatschools" wouldn't post misleading information about schools. They based the rating of El Puente Academy on the school's Regent's Exam scores - but the school does not administer Regents Exams. It is a member of the Consortium of Portfolio-based Assessment schools, and uses portfolios to assess student achievement. Regents exams are an extremely limited measure of school quality, even when the are actually administered.

I am an 8th grader here at MS.577 and this school is the bomb.The teachers are great the things planned here are great too.We have ballrooom dancing,spirit week,end of year trip and many other things.I would extremely recomend this school to the incoming students.

my daughter who attends williamsburg prep is in the 11th grade now and i find this school to be the above standards especially for such being one of the newer schools. the staff works with your child and i like the fact the school kept you up to date with your child progress; attendance and grades. my favorite is snapgrades which i look at every night and aris to keep up with her progress.

My child has been an A/Honor Roll student every school year, since 5th grade, she graduates next month and I will miss this school. I never worried about her safety or had to address any fighting issues. This school has a zero tolerance for that type of behavior and violence and fighting is grounds for being expelled. Their schools trip are affordable, mostly free and life learning experiences/enhancements. Class sizes are small and modeled and named after their homeroom teachers' college where they graduated. I found this as an excellent to show our kids what to expect and to look forward to when they go to college. Moreover, it serves as practice too, to participate in college pride rallys and school debates. This school is one of NY's best kept secrets! But should serve as a model to most of the struggling middle schools in our city. Truly they will be missed!!! Four flights up and not one parent mentioned that! Shows how great it is!! lol

i've been to ps 16 for 3 whole school years now im doing my last year in elementry in nc but ps 16 is wonderful school if you have kids and you stay in brooklyn then you should put them in ps 16 because its not just about the fun its the work and learning they have its like a new journey to a new places but its helpful and fun and this is coming from a girl whos really been theres for like her whooe life ps 16 is me! that why i will always love ps 16 i miss you!!! true story.

This is my son 3rd year in this school and my daughter is attending pre k this year .... love this school its a great school they help kids a lot my son grades are top noch comes home every week with 100 % test scores ... they just need more after school programs ....

When we moved to Williamsburg in 2006 with our 2 year old daughter we were worried about where she would go to Pre-K and above as we did not want to send her out of the neighborhood. We stumbled onto PS 84 which is a 15 minute walk from our apartment and we couldn't be happier. Our daughter is challenged, loves her friends and tells us all the time that she wants to go to PS 84 for the remainder of her elementary school years. Best of all, all the parents are great. Whether they are involved in the school or not. We have made so many wonderful friends to hang out with on the weekends.

Happy to report that Academy for Young Writers has received over 30K in grants for the 2011-12 school year and has been able to restore after school activities. Offerings this year including both girls and boys basketball, cheerleading, music, talent club, meditation and wellness, karaoke, cooking and anime clubs. Additionally, we have partnered with Urban Word NYC to host a Poet-in-Residence to run twice-weekly writers workshops, bring visiting writers to the school and host monthly poetry slams.
